I’ve spoke some other time about the carmine paste Acsinte used to mask portions of a negative (sometime in combination with black tape). Here’s how a negative looks with and without that masking paste:

Făcea să dispară anumite porțiuni din fotografie atunci cînd se printa negativul — de aceea banda negră de care făceam vorbire în postare este cunoscută și sub denumirea de “”masking tape” 🙂
