Today i had to make a tough decision! To scan some plates and risk ruining them or to let them as they were and not digitize them? I went with first option.
Now, let me explain: i had some plates stuck together, glued on one side with unknown brownish slime. After a bit of reading i decided to bathe the plates in warm water (26–28 °C) with a lot of wetting agent (20ml Fotonal in 1l of water). After 2–3 minutes, the plates went apart by themself. Next bath was 1min into isopropyl alcohol (1:1) and, after dripping, i left the plates between blotting paper till dried.
